Ajay is known for his tough image but not many know, this rough and tough action hero is very romantic at heart. Well, that side of his personality will be seen in his directorial debut U, Me Aur Hum in which he romances his real life wife Kajol.
According to him the title was first decided by Kajol who liked it very much. He says, “Its title says it all. When we are in love, we love that person the way he or she is, but when we get that person we try to mould him or her according to our liking. And that should not happen. We should continue to love a person the way he or she is and not the way we want them to be.”
Ajay feels when you like someone it’s quite difficult to propose to that person. Speaking about a scene from the film he says, “There's a dialogue in the film which speaks "24 drinks down and now I can say I love you. I’ll tell u something I had 50 drinks in my life to say that.”
But is it that difficult to say I love you? He laughs “No that’s the intention. Sometimes you like a person and you don’t have guts to go and say but alcohol is something that opens you.”
Did he ever propose to Kajol in the same manner? “No, I never proposed to Kajol. I could never say I love you to her. It's just that we met and became friends and eventually decided to get married some day. But I sincerely feel a man gets the courage to speak when he is drunk."
Ajay and Kajol have done six films together and undoubtedly they are one of the best couples in Bollywood. When asked about on the set chemistry of the couple he says, “It’s very normal, you don’t even feel that you are working with your wife because you are so occupied with your work and here I was directing also, so I was completely occupied. I was thinking about a character and not the person, who was playing that.”
He admits that his daughter Nysa is the most special person in his life. “I want to spend more time with her and I have cut down some work. I think after the birth of your child the perspective of you life changes. You start thinking more about your child than yourself. My every decision is depend on keeping her in mind.”
But as for now, the director is happy basking in the success of his first film.
