Behna, acting karti rehna Author: Subhash K Jha Date: 24 May 2008 Sonam Kapoor was in New York recently to see her younger sister Rhea perform on stage Sonam Kapoor is back in Mumbai after a two-week holiday in New York, where her younger sister Rhea is studying acting. The proud sister says, “My biggest joy this holiday was to watch Rhea perform on stage. She played five different characters from the play, A Clockwork Orange. I was stunned! She became completely different people each time. My jaw fell open. Was the bundle of comic talent really my kid sister? I’m so proud of her. She’s definitely going into acting.” So another Karisma-Kareena pair, huh? “That we shall see. For now I’m just happy that all three Kapoor siblings are into cinema. Dad wouldn’t want it any other way.” Apart from watching her sister on stage, Sonam also visited museums and indulged in retail therapy, “I shopped till my dad’s savings dropped,” she jokes. Sonam is feeling rejuvenated and supremely happy. She sighs, “I needed that break. Working with two hard taskmasters like Sanjay Bhansali and Rakeysh Mehra back-to-back was back-breaking. I was physically and emotionally exhausted.” Overprotected Interestingly, both of Sonam’s directors so far have been extremely protective of her. “Sanjay Sir would cover me up even when I walked from the set to my van. And now Rakeysh is worse! He wants to see me in nothing but salwar-kameez in Dilli 6.” For a sequence, Sonam had to get into chic attire. “When I came on the set, Rakeysh looked at me and said ‘This is not my character Bittu,’ and that I should quickly revert to my salwar-kameez look. Because of my dad, everyone treats me like a child. I can’t be doing any role which would make my father, mother and the rest of my family cringe at the premiere. My father has a 40-year reputation in the industry. And I’m not going to tarnish it.” www.mid-day.com/web/guest/entertainment/bollywood/article?_EXT_5_articleId=1146629&_EXT_5_groupId=14

Old flames stoke fire 02 June, 2008 05:54:00
Ranbir Kapoor is back in Mumbai after the last schedule of Bachna Aye Haseeno with Bipasha Basu in Europe, and he is instantly making news.He was spotted at a popular celeb hangout in Mumbai with his first Co-star Sonam Kapoor. If they were only co-stars,one could have given them the benefit of doubt and assumed they were just catching up. But the two did share aromantic history and Ranbir unceremoniously dumped Sonam for Deepika then. And a lot has happend since, and the media reports haven't exactly been flattering towards Sonam either. So,according to friends,Ranbir was trying to make peace with Sonam when he asked her to join him for dinner.Sonam readily agreed, and soon the two had gotten over the awkwardness and were seen sharing a good laugh or two. After all, both were co-stars and they did share some fun moments together. Although there were no candles lit on their tables,Deepika might be upset knowing that sparks did fly across the table. What is that they say abt old flames dying hard.
