Kajol: Stuck between love and friendship
Kajol is a part of Karan's Khan. And other than the lead actress everyone has accepted that. So why won't Kajol openly acknowledge the fact? A little birdie tells us it has more to do with hubby Ajay Devgan than anyone else.
"There is no love lost between Ajay and SRK-Karan camp. That's how it has been from day one. And over time Kajol hoped that things would improve but now she has simply given up. When news about her filming with SRK began around U, Me aur Hum … it didn't go down well with Ajay which is why she has been playing down the entire thing," says the source.
So does this mean that she may not do the film?
"No not at all. She has told Karan that she is very much a part of his film. But considering the response her pairing with SRK generates she thought it was best to keep quiet. In the end she will do exactly what she wants," says the source.
This is not the first time that rumours of a discord between the couple over Kajol's friendship with Karan and Shah Rukh are doing the rounds.
"Even when she was filming for Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham there had been a major showdown. Ajay wasn't happy with her acting in the film and then when she was making her return after a long break … he played a vital part in her selection of the film that she finally did take up," informs our source.
Healthy rivalry never hurt anyone but insiders in the SRK circle tell us that if anything the lack of friendship or more likely the lack of any effort on Ajay's part to form a bond has caused many rows within the couple.
"Karan, Kajol and SRK were the closest friends for the longest time. Then over time and especially after her marriage to Ajay she has had to pull back on that friendship. The fact that her chemistry with SRK was one of the best of the 90s and constantly in the news caused a lot of insecurity for Ajay. It began to affect their relationship and now with her daughter in the picture she had no choice but to reduce her presence in SRK's life. It had to come second to her marriage and her daughter."
"After K3G you saw her at very few SRK held parties where at one time she used to be a regular … even if Ajay didn't come. Now she doesn't come either," informs the source.
On numerous occasions Ajay has always mentioned that he doesn't like going out and therefore doesn't attend parties. "With the lifestyles that superstars lead they can't party every day. And sure sometimes schedules conflict but in this case he has never ever found the time to make it to even one party. He doesn't like SRK or Karan. And that's how it is. And as far as him not enjoying going out… his co-stars of other movies have a different tale to tell," says the source.
Recently Ajay wrote on his official blog that he owed a treat to his co-stars on the sets of Golmaal Returns. Why?
"This party is towards a bet which I won… I backed Delhi team which won against Kolkata in the ongoing IPL series," wrote Devgan.
